A Southland highway is closed following a serious crash last night between a car and a milk tanker.
The police said officers attended following a report of a two-vehicle crash on the Riverton-Wallacetown Highway involving a car and milk tanker about 9.55pm.
One person was seriously injured and was transported to Invercargill Hospital by helicopter.
State Highway 99 was now closed between Waimatuku Bush Rd and Thornbury Waimatuku Rd while the Serious Crash Unit examined the scene.
