Student success and achievement was celebrated last Wednesday at Wairarapa College's annual prizegiving as the 2012 academic year draws to a close.
Principal Mike Schwass said the prizegiving was a fantastic evening and a "wonderful event to bring a close to the 2012 year for our seniors".
"It is a great opportunity for the Wairarapa College community to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of our students throughout the year in cultural, sporting and most importantly academic areas," he said.
The audience was entertained by performances from Cantate, Ruby Bennett, the college orchestra and jazz band, Waicol Strings and Alex Fafeita, who performed the Barber of Seville Overture by Rossini and arranged for drums by Vadrucci.
Dux for 2012 was awarded to Liam Jolliffe, who came first in physics, mathematics with calculus, mathematics with statistics, chemistry and geography.
