Line honours went to Mike Cohe when the Masterton Cycling Club got their 2012-13 season under way on Tuesday night with an event which took in two laps of the Upper Plain circuit, finishing in Upper Manaia Rd.
The handicap road race saw 46 riders spread across six groups and Cohe was first to finish followed by Dave Howden and Chris Bunny. Julie Olds was the first woman home with Donna Burkhart and Viv Bunny filling the minor places.
Sabella Thurston led in the junior women and fastest time on the night was recorded by Mark Langlands from Andrew Linton and Peter James.
