Tamati Coffey may appear to be the loser in a dramatic end-of-year TV and radio reshuffle, but he's not losing heart.
The broadcaster was a fill-in host on TV One's Seven Sharp, but did not feature when the channel announced next year's line-up of Mike Hosking, Toni Street and Jesse Mulligan.
Coffey said he had no axe to grind. "I was only ever temporary, until they found a permanent team. It was just good timing that I got back from overseas for New Zealand's Got Talent and that Greg [Boyed] had stepped down from Seven Sharp and my timetable allowed me to help out." He was happy for the new team and couldn't wait to tune in next year.
"I'm sure it'll be great."
Coffey, 34, started on children's show What Now in 2004 but left in 2007 to become weather presenter on TV One's Breakfast until 2012. He won Dancing with the Stars in 2009 raising money for gay youth support group Rainbow Youth. He hosted the 2012 and 2013 seasons of NZ's Got Talent but took a break from presenting in between to travel.
