Coalition predictor: who'll work with whom

New Zealand First Party leader Winston Peters and Greens Party leader Russel Norman at the TVNZ leaders debate. WIll they decide on the make-up of the next government?

National: Could work with New Zealand First, Act, Maori Party, United Future and Conservatives. Won't work with Labour, the Greens or Internet-Mana.

Green Party: Has always opposed giving confidence and supply to National, except in the 2011 election, when it said it was unlikely but didn't rule it out.

Labour: Could work with Greens, and New Zealand First in a Government. It is open to a confidence and supply agreement with the Maori Party and Internet-Mana but has ruled them out as ministers. Has ruled out working with National, Act and the Conservatives and does not contemplate working with United Future.

Internet-Mana: Could support Labour but not National.

Act: Could support National, not Labour.

NZ First: Could support National or Labour but would decide after the election and would talk in the first instance to the highest-polling party. Vetoed the Greens in Government in 2005 but this year has only ruled out working with the Maori Party.

Maori Party: Could support National or Labour but would decide after the election.

United Future: Strong preference for National.

Conservatives: Have not ruled out working with anyone but preference is to support the highest-polling party.
