KEY POINTS:
A man in his 20s is in hospital with serious injuries after he fell climbing Mt Philistine in Arthur's Pass National Park today.
Inspector John Doherty said today the man fell on Rolleston Glacier, on Mount Philistine, about 1.22pm today.
"He is believed to have fallen about 100m and suffered facial injuries and possible fractures."
Mr Doherty said the man had been airlifted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Christchurch Hospital.
