A climber is in a serious condition in Christchurch Hospital after falling more than 100 metres near Arthur's Pass.
The 20-year-old had been on his way down from a climb above Rolleston Glacier on Mt Philistine yesterday afternoon, when he went over a bluff.
After providing him with first aid, his climbing companion went for help and the man was eventually airlifted to hospital.
