Climber and dies on Mt Aspiring

An Australian climber died in a fall in the Southern Alps on Sunday. He was Marc David Freedman, 22, a university student, of Northbridge, Sydney.

Police said he slipped from the Bonar Glacier on Mt Aspiring, northwest of Wanaka, fell 50m and landed in a crevasse.
