The new Toyota Camry is America's most washable car. So says the International Carwash Association, an American (where else?) body. The sleek Camry won the award because it easily slips through drive-through car washes. The Camry, due in New Zealand later this year, scored top marks for its securely fastened mirrors, bumpers and wipers, retractable exterior mirrors and rear windscreen wipers and snug-fitting mouldings. The Camry's aerodynamic design resists catching and retaining dirt. Whether the New Zealand model Camry will have retractable mirrors and rear wipers is not yet known. Back at the car wash, Toyota's North American division is proud of its award. "Toyota across the board, does pay attention to the washability of its cars," spokeswoman Holly Ferris said.
