KEY POINTS:
Controversial TV motoring host Jeremy Clarkson arrives in New Zealand this week under a cloud of calls for his resignation, after he called the British Prime Minister "a one-eyed Scottish idiot".
Gordon Brown, lost the sight in one eye in a teenage rugby accident and his fellow Scots politicians have joined blind support groups in demanding the BBC pull Clarkson's popular TopGear show.
Clarkson and co-star Richard Hammond are to arrive on Wednesday in Auckland, where they are to host TopGear Live at the ASB Showgrounds, with Kiwi racing driver Greg Murphy.
Clarkson has publicly apologised for the "heat-of-the-moment" comment about Brown.
It coincides with his derisory dismissal of New Zealand's environmental policies, in response to Herald on Sunday questions.
"I don't care whether New Zealand is green since I don't have to pay for all your eco schemes," said the climate change sceptic.
