KEY POINTS:
Helen Clark complained about host John Campbell's moderation off-screen during the TV3 debate last night.
John Key said the Prime Minister "thought she wasn't having enough time".
"At one point she said to John [Campbell] she wanted to make sure he was giving a fair go," said Mr Key.
"I thought he did a good job in moderating the debate. I don't have any complaints."
Mr Key said while it was a "heated exchange" at times, "John Campbell made it quite clear he was going to give us a fair go."
Helen Clark appeared to signal at Campbell during the debate to let her talk.
But afterwards she said: "Yep. I'm happy I got a fair amount of time".
