Former Prime Minister Helen Clark and Labour MP Charles Chauvel will spearhead a UN body set up to challenge laws and policies which discriminate against people with HIV.
Ms Clark, head of the UN Development Programme, will be joined on the commission by Mr Chauvel, a former chairman of the New Zealand Aids Foundation. The commission aims to develop human rights-based recommendations for HIV law and policy reform across the world.
