Clark backs stormin’ Norman for dance contest

Norm Hewitt (with partner Carol-Ann Hickmore) has become a firm favourite for Prime Minister Helen Clark.

Norm Hewitt has a higher power in his corner before Sunday's final of Dancing With the Stars -- Prime Minister Helen Clark.

Miss Clark revealed on Radio Live this morning that she had a soft spot for former All Black Norm Hewitt.

"I'm going to bat for Norm," Miss Clark said.

"I think it's a wonderful achievement for him to get into that final."

Hewitt is up against former Shortland St actor Shane Cortese.

On Sunday Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt was voted off the show on TV One. His public kept him on the show rather than his dancing which judges consistently scored the lowest.
