Junior/Intermediate Civil Engineer

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
•
Fulfil the role of Job Manager for projects undertaken by the company in any region serviced by Cheal, but primarily within the Hawke's Bay area. This will require exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a proactive approach to managing projects.
•
Carry out Civil Engineering design, preparation of drawings in accordance with the Cheal CAD Standard and liaise with Draughting staff on the production of the finished product.
•
Perform engineering calculations, analysis & design and peer review internal calculations, designs & reports of colleagues.
•
Produce engineering reports & plans.
•
Prepare tender documents for issue and assess tenders on behalf of clients.
•
Contract observation and administration, including the observation of sub contractors.
•
Carry out site investigations, field tests etc & report findings.
Skills and Experience
If you are able to display the following traits we would love to hear from you:
• Proficient in the use of 12D software (Civil 3D/AutoCAD is also appreciated)
• Demonstrable Project & Client Management Experience.
• 1-2 years experience in the New Zealand civil engineering environment.
• A focus on achieving CPEng status.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional team player with a commitment to quality is an absolute must.
