Good neighbour Keith Scott thought he was doing his bit for the community by cleaning up his street during the Rugby World Cup.
Little did the Mt Eden resident know he would receive a $40 parking fine as a result of the clean-up.
After noticing a street-sweeping machine in the area last month, Scott organised parked cars to be moved so it could do a better job.
"The kerb was full of leaves and rotting hedgehogs - it was absolutely disgusting."
But during the spruce-up Scott was fined for leaving his car parked partially over his own driveway, with the rest of the car on the footpath.
