A building housing a downtown Auckland gym has been evacuated after smoke was spotted on one floor, and was smelled on another.
Northern Fire Communications' shift manager Megan Ruru said six trucks were on the scene at CityFitness on Queen St.
"Light smoke has been seen on level three and there's a smell of smoke on level seven."
Emergency services were alerted at 6.15pm, she said.
