The Auckland City Council is looking at redesignating a route for public transport along Dominion Rd, after lifting the former designation eight months ago.
The 4m-wide designation had been in place for 40 years.
It meant that any new building had to be sited back from the road and it gave the council the right to buy encroaching shop fronts if it ever widened the road.
Now the council's transport and roading committee will consider a proposal to designate a 2.15m-wide new route - solely for public transport - along and adjacent to Dominion Rd at a meeting later this month.
An information display will be at Mt Eden Memorial Hall for the next two Fridays.
It will also be open next Tuesday, and on Monday, July 17, and Thursday, July 20.
