A man has appeared in court this morning accused of running four red lights and leading police on a 30km high-speed pursuit through Christchurch overnight.
Christopher Warren Corfield, 33, allegedly failed to stop for police who say they saw him speeding through the Christchurch suburb of Bexley at around 1am.
It's alleged he took them on a 30km pursuit which ended when he allegedly drove through police spikes and his vehicle lost two wheels.
The Kaiapoi mechanic appeared at Christchurch District Court this morning from custody.
He faces charges of driving recklessly on Anzac Dr, failing to stop for police, and driving while disqualified, as well as possession of a single barrel shotgun and one shotgun round.
