KEY POINTS:
More than 200,000 people turned out for last night's Christmas in the Park at the Auckland Domain.
The weather was mostly fine, with the event headlined once again by "old-school hosts" Jackie Clarke and Frankie Stevens.
On a night of Christmas carols and chart topping hits, one of the night's highlights was provided by award-winning band Opshop, with their hit song 'Maybe'.
Ben Lummis, winner of NZ Idol 2004, and Sela Mahe also performed a wonderful version of 'Silent Night'.
The event, which has now been performed to over 6 million people, has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity Youthline.
This year funds from the events in Christchurch and Auckland will be used to support youth work services and youth mentoring and helping young people to reach their potential.
