Police are searching for a man who held up a Christchurch liquor store while brandishing a kitchen knife.
The robbery occurred about 6.45 last night, at the Warrington Liquor Centre on Warrington St.
The man described as being Caucasian, about 25 years old, 183cm tall and of solid build went behind the counter at the store, and took a "medium-sized kitchen knife" from his backpack, police said.
He brandished the knife at the lone staffer, and demanded he open the till.
The man then took tobacco and cigarettes, and two or three bottles of spirits before fleeing.
