Police are making inquiries after a young person reported a man made a “suspicious approach” and allegedly tried to get them into his vehicle in Christchurch this afternoon.
The incident is reported to have happened in Sydenham about 3pm.
A police spokeswoman said the youngster got away unharmed and told their parent about the incident and it was reported to police an hour later.
“Police are making further inquiries,” the spokeswoman said.
