Ahmed was fatally shot in the back at the Masjid Al Noor Mosque after she led a group of children to safety. She had returned to check on her husband Farid, who uses a wheelchair, and to help him escape. Farid survived the attack.

Zekeriya Tuyan, 46
Turkish citizen Zekeriya Tuyan was the last person to succumb to injuries sustained during the attack bringing the death toll to 51.
The father-of-two was wounded at the Masjid Al Noor Mosque and was in a critical condition in Christchurch Hospital following the shootings.
He died in hospital 48 days after the attack. He was one of three Turkish citizens injured in the attacks.
