A 25-year-old man remains in a critical condition in Christchurch Hospital this morning after he was assaulted on Christmas day.
A 22-year-old woman who was known to the man has been charged with serious assault and appeared in Christchurch District Court today, a police spokeswoman confirmed.
The assault happened in the Chistchurch suburb of Cashmere.
