A Christchurch man charged over a two-decade-old rape and kidnapping mystery has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The 48-year-old man, who has continued name suppression, was arrested earlier this month in relation to the alleged home invasion and assault of a woman on May 9, 1994 in the Christchurch suburb of Burwood.
The man faces six charges, including burglary while armed with a knife, kidnapping, rape, two counts of sexual violation, and possession of a knife.
The man pleaded not guilty to all charges when he appeared by video-link in Christchurch District Court this morning.
Judge Noel Walsh granted the man bail as he was at little risk of re-offending and was unlikely to flee.
