A service has been held in Christchurch for the 29 men who died in the Pike River mine disaster.
Family members of the men who perished in the mine gathered along with members of the public and West Coasters now living in Christchurch.
They heard heartfelt speeches by Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker and Grey District Mayor Tony Kokshoorn.
A rousing speech was also given by Sir Tipene O';Regan from Ngai Tahu.
After the service a single bell tolled for the 29 men.
