A young Christchurch woman has won a shot at the Miss Universe beauty pageant title in Mexico later this year.
Laural Barrett won the Miss Universe 2007 New Zealand competition and $25,000 of prizes in Auckland last night.
Sylvia Laurenson was runner-up, followed by Jessica Body.
Miss Barrett's twin sister Sharaine was a runner-up in last year's competition.
