Christchurch earthquake: 'Rocky' bids pass $7000

The online auction for the boulder that destroyed a home during the quake had reached $7000 last night.

"Rocky" the boulder crashed through Phil Johnson's garage in Morgans Valley, leaving him and his wife homeless.

Mr Johnson placed the rock on Trade Me to raise funds for the earthquake relief fund.

The auction winner can have their picture taken with "Rocky" or take it away.
