Fonterra has donated a massive $3 million to the quake relief effort.
That's the amount accumulated from farmers, staff and Fonterra contributions combined.
The dairy giant will match farmer and staff donations dollar for dollar.
Shareholders' Council Chairman Simon Couper says it's a huge effort by farmers, some of whom who've been struggling with business pressures and recovering from recent droughts.
He says rural communities have come together to support one another.
100,000 litres of water and milk products have also been donated.
