Christchurch Casino prosecuted

Christchurch Casino is facing the first prosecution of its type after allegedly allowing an underage person to stay on its gambling premises.

It is defending two charges of breaching the Gaming Act brought by the Department of Internal Affairs. The case will be heard in February.

Lawyer for Christchurch Casinos Jonathan Eaton said it was not alleged that the underage person had gambled or drunk on the premises.
