An injured man cut off by snow had to be flown to hospital from his remote property.
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter flew out to a property at the foothills of the Ruahine Range, about 50km north of Palmerston North, to retrieve the man about 4.30pm.
The 48-year-old had sustained a leg injury, but had no other way to get help, as he had been cut off from the road due to heavy snowfall.
The helicopter was able to get in and rescue the man, airlifting him to Palmerston North Hospital in a comfortable condition.
