A Chinese tourist has been charged with careless driving after her rental vehicle veered off the Queenstown to Glenorchy road and ended up on its side yesterday.
Constable Aaron Redaelli, of Queenstown, said the 32-year-old female driver and her male passenger were unhurt after the car left the road near Blanket Bay about 10.50am.
The woman "panicked" and overcorrected after becoming distracted by scenery while on a straight section of road.
The vehicle veered off the road to the left, ending up suspended on one side after a "soft landing" in scrub, Mr Redaelli said.
The pair were able to get out of the car immediately.
