A Chinese student charged with the murder of two people and attempted murder of another, has been remanded in custody after appearing in the North Shore District Court.
The 22-year-old was charged with murder yesterday after Sunday's stabbing in Unsworth Heights, on Auckland's North Shore.
Judge Mark Perkins remanded the man in custody and granted him name supression for a week, to enable him to tell family in China.
A woman, 21, died at the Black Teal Close house on Sunday, and a 20-year-old man died on the footpath outside.
The 21-year-old survivor is recovering in hospital.
The dead students have not been named. Their families are thought to live in Shanghai.
