Time is once again moving forward at the Auckland Art Gallery.
The gallery's 19th century clock began chiming yesterday for the first time since construction work on the gallery began four years ago.
Horologist Michael Cryns has spent hundreds of hours during that time restoring the clock, which is one of only a few 19th century clocks left in New Zealand.
Mr Cryns has been working on the re-installation of the chimes.
He will give a talk about his work and a detailed history of the clock on September 25, as part of the Auckland Heritage Festival.
