Charitable people willing to help fight malaria in countries where the disease is in endemic status will be offered a cup - or cone - full of encouragement for their trouble.
On April 25, Auckland gelato store Giapo will give visitors to its Queen Street store a chance to mix, mingle and donate to Unicef New Zealand's Under Cover campaign, which aims to distribute 35,000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to children living in affected countries.
People who donate $10 or more in-store at Giapo between 3 and 4pm will receive a free gelato.
The event is timed to coincide with World Malaria Day.
According to a Unicef statement, the disease infects between 350-500 million people each year and kills more than one million, mostly young children in Africa.
