Childs' play tonight at park

Christmas in the Park is on again tonight at the Auckland Domain.

In its 17th year, the event has become one of New Zealand's biggest free outdoor music events.

Hosted by TV3's Petra Bagust and John Campbell, this year's show will feature the winner of TV3's X Factor Australia, Altiyan Childs, and some of New Zealand's most exciting performers.

Altiyan, under the guidance of Ronan Keating, took the top prize last month, and has just released his first single Somewhere in the World with Sony Music Australia.

There will be no parking in the Domain. Grafton Bridge will be closed to all vehicles. Bus and train timetables are on maxx.co.nz.

There is a liquor ban in the streets surrounding the museum, but not in the Domain, where the event is being held.

Should the event have to be postponed because of the weather, it will be held tomorrow night.

The concert starts at 7.30pm.
