KEY POINTS:
Children's health camps have agreed to be independently audited to bolster their plea for more Government funding. The health camps' board yesterday accepted the audit proposed by the Ministry of Social Development, and deferred any decision on closing one or more of their seven camps until the audit is completed in about a month. The camps had said they would be forced to close their Roxburgh camp in Otago, and eventually a camp at either Rotorua or Otaki, unless they filled a $5 million funding shortfall.
