Two young boys are being sought by police for allegedly shooting ducks in West Auckland bush.
The boys, thought to be aged 10 and 11, were reported to police about 5pm yesterday by a local resident who said they each had an air rifle and had been shooting ducks in bush off Phillip Ave in Glen Eden.
"They injure the ducks and just leave them there," the informant said, according to a police spokeswoman.
The information was not home when police attended yesterday so officers were going to speak with them today. It was thought they knew the identity of the boys, the spokeswoman said.
Should the allegations be true, the boys would likely be referred to police youth aid.
