The 4-year-old critically injured in a crash on State Highway 16 near Riverhead is now in a stable condition.
The child was one of three injured in the crash yesterday, on the highway near the Coatesville-Riverhead Highway intersection.
An Auckland District Health Board spokeswoman confirmed the child, who had been reported as critical not long after the crash, was now stable in Starship Hospital.
She said the other two, who were seriously injured, have since been discharged from hospital.
Waitemata police spokeswoman Beth Bates said yesterday that the car had been pulling out of a driveway when the accident happened.
