Laptops have been placed at the fingertips of senior Gladstone School pupils.
Gladstone School principal Margaret Hyslop said each of the 15 Year 7 and 8 pupils at the school have been given a laptop for daily classroom use and three Year 6 pupils in the senior class will share a single computer between them. Trust House and Friends of Gladstone School (FOGS) each donated funds for the laptops, she said, which will be used in sync with an interactive whiteboard in the senior classroom.
Craig Cooper and Ray Southey from Trust House, and also Jill Day and Nicki Hammond from FOGS presented senior pupils with the computers at the school assembly on Friday, Mrs Hyslop said. "All the students were extremely excited about this fabulous development. We really appreciate the generosity of Trust House and Friends of Gladstone School for what they have achieved. "
Class teacher and deputy principal Toby Funnel also is very pleased with the new technology.
