Children have been found living in homes being used for drugs offences. An operation by police in the Eastern Bay of Plenty resulted in 38 people facing 102 drug-related charges.
These came about from a series of search warrants in the area in the last fortnight.
Methamphetamine, LSD, ecstasy, cannabis oil, cannabis, cash, stolen property and firearms were recovered during the 28 search warrants.
A Bay of Plenty police spokesperson said police were dispappointed at the number of children who were living in these environments.
"What we found particularly disappointing was the number of children at these addresses with no choice about being brought up in these dangerous environments. We are working alongside other agencies to ensure the ongoing safety of these children.
