KEY POINTS:
A Tauranga man's shocking secret fetish was exposed accidentally when one of his children and a friend were using the family computer to play games.
By some "technical glitch" an image came on to the screen that revealed the pornographic picture site 46-year-old David Moore had been visiting, Tauranga District Court heard yesterday.
By chance, an adult visitor saw the evidence and told police. A search warrant resulted in a box containing "many images" being found in a bedside drawer, said prosecutor David Pawson.
The pictures printed from the internet were of boys and girls aged 6 to 9 posing partly or completely naked. Some were engaged in sexual acts.
Judge Peter Rollo fined Moore $2000, acknowledging that the offence was at the lower end of the scale.
The maximum penalty is five years in jail or a fine up to $50,000.
