A man who allegedly used a child as a shield against a police dog has been remanded in custody.
Nicholas Tuhoro McLean, 28, apeared in Hamilton District Court charged with possession of methamphetamine and cannabis for supply, aggravated assault on a police officer, driving while disqualified and reckless operation of a motor vehicle and two charges of burglary.
The charges allegedly relate to incidents in Cambridge and Tamahere on April 13.
He entered no plea at his third court appearance before Community Magistrate Pat Oettli who heard his case in a secure hearing room. He was remanded until May 6.
