A 7-year-old girl is recovering in hospital after being bitten on the face by a dog in south Auckland this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a house on Korimako Ave, Mangere Bridge, where the girl was attacked about 3pm.
An ambulance spokeswoman said she was rushed to hospital with moderate injuries.
Counties Manukau District Health Board spokeswoman Lauren Young said the girl was in a stable condition in Kid First Children's Hospital.
Auckland Council communications adviser Angela Jones said animal control officers went to the house to investigate but no one was home, and no dogs could be seen on the property.
