KEY POINTS:
A child had to be pulled to safety from a burning vehicle yesterday after a police chase through Panmure.
One witness said the driver was being pursued by police at speeds of up to 120km/h when he hit a power pole outside Tamaki Primary School.
The man then reversed and drove down Matapan Rd before his vehicle caught fire and he was forced to stop.
