A 7-year-old has been killed at a logging site in Otago.
About 5.15pm this evening, Balclutha, Milton and Dunedin police attended an incident in the Manuka Gorge area.
The incident was not a logging accident but resulted in the death of a 7-year-old child, police said in a statement.
A combined investigation was underway involving OSH and police.
The investigation was in the early stages and next of kin needed to be informed, so police said they would not release any further information at this stage.
