KEY POINTS:
A young girl has gone missing from her Northland home overnight, police say.
Tabitha Mason, a nine-year-old Caucasian with the intellectual age of six disappeared from her Collingwood St, Raumanga home around 8pm on Christmas Eve.
Police say they have growing concerns for her safety after their inquiries and searches of the local area have failed to locate the girl.
Tabitha was wearing a pink flared dress and a pink t-shirt, she has blond hair and is approximately 120cm tall.
Police are appealing to anyone in the Raumanga area who has seen a young girl fitting this description to contact Whangarei Police immediately on 09 430 4500.
