A child who fell from a Christchurch school playground today has escaped serious injury.
The boy, aged under 10, fell from a climbing frame at South Hornby School on Shands Rd in Hornby at 1.10pm during lunchtime.
Emergency services rushed to the scene.
St John initially said the boy was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition.
South Hornby School principal Simon Moriarty confirmed this afternoon that the boy has "no serious injuries".
