A young boy has drowned at a property in Makarau, north of Auckland, this afternoon.
A St John spokeswoman said emergency crews were called to a private residence shortly after 3.30pm.
It is understood the child is a toddler, around 21-months-old.
An Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman said emergency services were performing CPR on the toddler when the helicopter crew arrived after 3.45pm.
She said the crew's doctor and paramedic took over treatment, but the boy was unable to be revived.
