A child was among five people injured in a four-vehicle crash near Morrinsville tonight.
The girl, aged about 12, was travelling in a car with a woman who was trapped in the wreckage following the crash on Kereone Rd about 6.30pm.
St John Ambulance could not be contacted, but a Northern Fire Communications spokesperson said the woman was flown by rescue helicopter to Waikato Hospital after she was freed by firefighters.
Morrinsville Volunteer Fire Brigade chief fire officer Brian Watters said the child was shaken up but appeared to have only suffered bruising.
The other vehicles were two utes and a truck and trailer unit, which had been clipped by one of the vehicles. The truck driver was not injured while three people in the two utes appeared to have suffered minor injuries, Watters said.
