Hamilton police have found a mother who allegedly abducted her 18-month-old daughter safe and well in the CBD.
Hamilton City Area Commander, Inspector Rob Lindsay, said the pair were
located shortly after 3.15pm and the little girl is currently being medically examined to ensure her wellbeing.
The girl's 29-year-old mother is being interviewed by police.
Mr Lindsay earlier said the girl, Chevelle Gage, was with her father at the Hamilton Lake Domain yesterday afternoon when the girl's mother came and took her.
"Chevelle's parents are estranged and her father was awarded custody of her in accordance with Child Youth and Family guidelines," Mr Lindsay said.
